I picked up a camera because of skateboarding.

When I was twelve, my friends and I spent every afternoon at the local skatepark. While everyone else was trying new tricks, I was usually behind a MiniDV camera, filming everything and putting together small edits when we got home.

Years later, the Real Federación Española de Patinaje asked me to create the presentation film for Spain's Olympic skateboard team.

Some projects feel bigger than the brief itself.

This was one of them.

Making that film felt like coming full circle. The camera was different, the production was bigger, but the reason I was filming hadn't really changed since those afternoons at the skatepark.

Looking back, it doesn't feel like it was made by Muhrk Media.

It feels like it was made by the twelve-year-old who never stopped bringing a camera to every skate session.
